Brand Mockup
Ideas Into Branding
The Vision
Being given a word out of the dictionary to create a brand logo, you find yourself asking, “How do I take such a basic word and turn it into something memorable? Into a brand that I could see being sold on shelves. That’s how PEDESTRIAN was made. a streetwear brand logo made for the modern pedestrian. But to build a brand, you need an idea. I drew my ideas from pedestrian walking signs as well as street signs from around the world, and started with a few rough sketches.
Building The Idea
Once I had chosen my favorite, I had to choose my color palette. I went through quite a few colors, ranging from street sign green to something more sporty to match the vibe of the characters, which I had named “The running man”. In the end, I ended up choosing the black and white gradient, although the rest of the colors were certainly not off the table for the future.
The Final Logo
Using the greyscale running man, I created a mockup of the logo. I drew more inspiration from signs, even using the font that you often find on street signs. Now, the logo is shelf- and street-worthy.
